AUSTIN YACHT CLUB'S ANNUAL TURNBACK REGATTA

LAGO FEST is held in conjunction with the Austin Yacht Club's historical Annual Turnback Regatta. Watch the beautiful boats and accomplished sailors race into the park in the early afternoon. Visit with the Austin Yacht Club sailors to learn about their activities and how you can join or learn to sail. 
 
Since its founding in 1951, AUSTIN YACHT CLUB is the place in Central Texas where members and guests can find a fun, uniquely Austin version of what a “Yacht Club” should be - A great community of sailing enthusiasts with excellence in sailing skills, racing, and training.


 

Lago Fest FAQ: Turnback Canyon Regatta ⛵

We’re excited to welcome back the iconic Turnback Canyon Regatta in partnership with the Austin Yacht Club—making its return to Bar-K Park for the first time since 2018!

⛵ When do the boats depart on Saturday?

The first (fastest) boats will depart Austin Yacht Club at approximately 10:05 AM on Saturday.

⛵ How many racers are expected?

We anticipate 20–30 sailboats competing this year across multiple racing fleets.

​

⛵ What time will boats arrive at Lago Fest?

Arrival times will vary depending on wind conditions, but spectators can expect the first boats to arrive between 2:00–4:00 PM.

Because there are multiple fleets, boats will arrive in waves—similar to a marathon—with a steady stream of finishes throughout the afternoon.

⛵ What happens on Sunday? Can we watch them leave?

Yes! Spectators are welcome to come back and watch the departure.

The first race warning signal begins at 10:00 AM Sunday, with the fastest boats launching shortly after around 10:05 AM.
