Weekend getaway
Come out for the festival, and stay for the weekend. There's nothing like a good staycation on the lake to get you feeling refreshed without all the long travel. From wine tasting, hiking, water sports, golf, and more, Lago Vista's charm will have you saying "yes" to a LAGO FEST weekend getaway each year! Here are just a few ideas of what you can do.
Friday
If you get here earlier in the day, try hiking through Balcones Canyonlands! This National Wildlife Refuge showcase all the flora and fauna native to Texas. Entrance is free and the trails are open from sunrise to sunset!
The evening begins just outside of Lago Vista at the Flat Creek Estate Winery. This beautiful, local vineyard offers guided wine tastings from 11am to 5pm. Spend the evening learning about the estate, the growers, and the world of wine.
When the Texas-Tuscan Tasting Room closes, make the very short walk over to the Bistro at the winery for dinner. Try what's on the chef's menu, a three course meal that is perfectly paired with Flat Creek wine!
A gorgeous sunset walk around the grounds before heading back to wherever you're staying closes out the night. It is the perfect way to take in the awe-inspiring hill country.
Saturday LAGO FEST
Start the day with breakfast at Latte Vista, Lago Donuts, or Dave's Tacos where you can find the best lattes and tacos in town.
Get ready for the first shuttle pick up at 12:45 am for happy hour at the festival! Don't forget a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Bring towels if you want to cool off in the water. Bring folding chairs if you want. If it fits on your lap, you can bring it on the bus.
Visit the beer tent for happy hour, watch the boat regatta on Lake Travis, try all the tasty food truck options, take a helicopter ride, appreciate and purchase your favorite art from Central Texas ARTISTS + MAKERS, and jam out to the live music!
Then head back to your room after a long day of FUN!
Sunday
Golf anyone?
The Lago Vista Golf Course is a town treasure that boasts amazing views of Lake Travis. Spend the morning getting your golf on and enjoying the beautiful scenery! Once you've worked up an appetite, grab lunch at the The Bunker Bar & Grill. Try one of their hot sandwiches or a mouth-watering burger. Nothing better than the 19th hole of golf.
The only real way to experience any lake is from the water! For an afternoon of Lake Travis fun, rent pontoon boats, wave runners, and ski boats. You can even rent a boat captain.
If you're still here for dinner, EAT LOCAL!
Try dining at Captian Pete's, Wok 'n' Grill, Casa Mexico, Lakeside Subs, Bajo La Luna, and more!
